Kandy is the second largest city in Sri Lanka after Colombo and it is home to the Royal Botanical Garden, the largest botanical garden on the island. It is one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka.
Kandy remains an important religious centre in Sri Lanka as it is home to the Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most venerable places for Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and around the world. Temple of Tooth Relic was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
