Thaipusam Festival 2014, Selangor, Malaysia

Thaipusam festival is celebrated by Tamil community to commemorate the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a Vel spear so he could defeat the evil demon Soorapadman. The festival is held every year in early February, on the full moon in Tamil month throughout Malaysia. The biggest festival is held at Batu Caves temple, the biggest Hindu temple outside India, located in Selangor, Malaysia.

How to get there?

Batu Caves temple is very accessible, both by train, bus and car from Kuala Lumpur and nearby places. It takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to get there from Kuala Lumpur central train station.

Nagarkot, Nepal

Nagarkot is yet another must-visit destinations while in Nepal for its breathtaking of the majestic Himalayas, rolling hills, deep valleys, lush pine forest in a quaint rural atmosphere. Located approximately 32 km from Kathmandu, travelers can witness spectacular views of whole Langtang range, sunrise on the mountains as well as sunset views.

Nagarkot can be reached after approximately 4 hours driving from Kathmandu through narrow and winding road. Public buses are commonly available from Kathmandu.
