Brown Hawk-Owl aka. Brown Boobook @ Serdang Hill, Selangor, Malaysia

Brown Hawk-Owl (Ninox scutulata) aka. Brown Boobook is a cute, fast and attractive raptor among many different types of birds can be found in Serdang Hill, Selangor, Malaysia. Brown Hawk-Owl is a resident raptor to Serdang Hill.

Other nearby birding destination to Serdang Hill is Sungai Long hill. Sungai Long is a township near Kajang town, in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It can be reached in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur city center by car. The hill has become an attraction to the local people around the area as it provides sporting and recreational venues to them, including trekking, hiking, walking and cycling. The area is mostly covered by secondary forest and primary rainforest. Hence, it attracts both endemic and migratory birds to this area. The birds can be found along the forest edges. 

The main target birds in Serdang Hill and Sungai Long hill include different types Kingfishers, Owls, Malkohas, Ioras, Sunbirds, Eagles, Flowerpeckers, Orioles, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Flycatchers,ogos and Bulbuls just to name a few.
