Whiskered Treeswift (Hemiprocne comata) [Female] is very colorful, adorable and attractive bird among many hundreds of birds can be found at Lenggor Forest Reserve, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The male Whiskered Treeswift has red color cheeks. The same is absent in the female counterpart. It can be found in the forest, along the road in the forest reserve.
Lenggor Forest Reserve or Hutan Simpan Lenggor is another popular birding place in Johor, Malaysia. It is located in a small town of Kahang, in the state of Johor Bahru, southern part of Peninsular Malaysia, some 250 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. It can be reached in approximately 4 hours by car. The birding place located along the road of forest reserve.
Although it is located in a small town, there are sufficient accommodation, local eateries, groceries shops, clinics and local bank to cater for the local and visitors to the town.
Lenggor Forest Reserve is certainly another wonderful birding destinations as it is a residence to many exotic birds, both endemic and migratory birds. The main target birds in Lenggor include Woodpeckers, Malkohas, Pittas, Broadbills, Hornbills, Philentomas, different types of Babblers, different types of Trogons and different types of Bulbul just to name a few. At the same time the forest has become a wildlife sanctuary.
