Banded Kingfisher [Female] @ Sungai Long Hill, Selangor, Malaysia

Banded Kingfisher (Lacedo pulchella) [Female] is a cute, fast and attractive bird among many different types of birds can be found in Sungai Long Hill, Selangor, Malaysia. Banded Kingfisher is a resident bird to Sungai Long Hill. 

Sungai Long is a township near Kajang town, in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It can be reached in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur city center by car. The hill has become an attraction to the local people around the area as it provides sporting and recreational venues to them, including trekking, hiking, walking and cycling. The area is mostly covered by secondary forest and primary rainforest. Hence, it attracts both endemic and migratory birds to this area. The birds can be found along the forest edges. 

The main target birds in Sungai Long hill include different types Kingfishers, Malkohas, Ioras, Sunbirds, Eagles, Flowerpeckers, Orioles, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Flycatchers,ogos and Bulbuls just to name a few.

Eastern Barn Owl @ Batu Gajah, Perak, Malaysia

Eastern Barn Owl (Tyto javanica) is a colorful, cute and attractive birds can be found in Batu Gajah. The raptor can be found in the vegetation around the ponds located nearby the park. 

Kinta Nature Park or Taman Alam Kinta in local Malay language is located in Batu Gajah, state of Perak, Malaysia. It has the largest man-made pond in the state and the largest heronry in Malaysia, where thousand of heron-like birds can be found here in the park. The park is open to public everyday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. with free admission. It can be reached in approximately 2.5 hours from Kuala Lumpur by car.
 
The park, especially the pond attracts many activities to the local and tourist alike, including, fishing, bird watching, family get away and jogging.

Kinta Nature Park has a large bird population and varieties. It certainly entices many birders to be there. The main target birds include different types of herons, egrets, hornbills, bee-eaters, kingfishers, shrikes, weavers, snipes, bulbuls, pigeons just to name a few.

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker Chick @ Putrajaya, Malaysia

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (Veniliornis callonotus) is a colorful, very active and attractive bird among many birds can be found at Putrajaya.

Bird feeding the chick is one the most interesting, exciting yet challenging scene to be photographed as the bird is very active. It only gives few seconds window to capture the most amazing scene of nature. 
   
Other neighboring birding destination is Putrajaya Wetlands Park or Taman Wetlands Putrajaya in local language is one of the largest constructed fresh water wetlands in the administrative city of Putrajaya Malaysia. The wetlands has become a wildlife sanctuary as it attracts huge wildlife animals into it.  

For wildlife lovers Putrajaya Wetlands Park is certainly another popular destination near to the capital city. It is located some 40 km for the capital city, Kuala Lumpur and it can be reached in approximately one hour by car. 

Putrajaya Wetlands Park is a residence to many exotic birds, including different type of Barbets, Egrets, Bulbuls, Pelican, Ducks, Flamingos, Doves, and Bitterns just to name a few and many migratory birds.

Asian Fairly Bluebird [Male] @ Sungai Congkak, Selangor, Malaysia

Asian Fairly Bluebird (Irena puella) [Male] is a very colorful, super fast and attractive bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest, Selangor, Malaysia. Asian Fairly Bluebird is a resident bird to Sungai Congkak. The bird can be found at the forest edges in the recreational forest. 

Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest is yet another wonderful birding destinations in Selangor, Malaysia as it is a residence to many exotic birds. The recreational forest covers a large area of tropical rain forest, waterfalls, trekking and streams. Lineated Barbet @ Taman Rimba Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Lineated Barbet (Psilopogon lineatus) is yet another colorful, cute and attractive resident bird can be found in Taman Rimba Kiara. It can be found in the vegetation along the small stream around the park.

Taman Rimba Kiara is one of few parks located in the center of Kuala Lumpur city. It is a public park that serves a green lung for city folks. It is located at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, just half an hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur City Center. 

The park is an important place for family get way, children activities, jogging and even wedding. At the same time, it attracts wildlife and it has become a bird sanctuary. 

Taman Rimba Kiara has a large bird population and varieties with a recorded more than 40 species of birds. It certainly entices many birders to be there.
