Chestnut-winged Cuckoo @ Kundang, Selangor, Malaysia

Chestnut-winged Cuckoo (Clamator coromandus) is a colorful, fast and attractive bird among many different types of birds can be found in Kundang, Selangor, Malaysia. Whiskered Tern is a migratory bird to Kundang.

The photos were taken using Nikon D500 paired with Nikkor 500 PF lens, ISO 1250, F 6.3, EV -0.3.  

Kundang is a township in Hulu Selangor near Rawang town, in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It can be reached in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur city center by car. The area is mostly covered by secondary forest and primary rainforest. Hence, it attracts both endemic and migratory birds to this area. The birds can be found along the forest edges leading to the water treatment plant, surrounding rainforest and palm oil plantation.

Other nearby wonderful birding destinations to Kundang is Sungai Buaya, which can be reached just half an hour from Kundang. 

The main target birds in Sungai Buaya include different types Malkohas, Ioras, Sunbirds, Eagles, Flowerpeckers, Orioles, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Flycatchers, Owls, Drongos and Bulbuls just to name a few.
