Banded Kingfisher [Male] @ Benta, Pahang, Malaysia

Banded Kingfisher (Lacedo pulchella) [Male] is a cute, fast and attractive bird among many different types of birds can be found in Benta, Pahang, Malaysia. Banded Kingfisher is a resident bird to Benta.

The photos were taken using Nikon D500 paired with Nikkor 500 PF lens, ISO 1250, F 6.3, EV -0.7.  

Benta is a small township near Raub town, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. It can be reached in approximately two hours from Kuala Lumpur city center by car. Additional half hour is needed to reach the birding location by four-wheel vehicle through winding off-road. The area is mostly covered by durian estate, rubber and palm oil plantation. For birding purpose in the area, better preparation is needed in term of food and drink, mosquito protection and shoes. 

The main target birds in Benta include different types Kingfishers, Flogmouth, Malkohas, Ioras, Sunbirds, Eagles, Flowerpeckers, Orioles, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Flycatcher and Bulbuls just to name a few.
