Baya Weaver @ Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia

Baya Weaver (Ploceus philippinus) is a cute, attractive and very fast action bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. Baya Weaver is a residence bird to Serdang. The bird can be easily differentiated between male and female. The male has yellow crown whilst it is absent in the female. The bird can be found on the trees around the lake and along the forest edges.

Serdang is yet another wonderful birding destinations in Selangor, Malaysia as it is a residence to many exotic birds and has become migratory birds' destination too. The area has large man-made lakes, forest and savanna. 

Serdang can be reached in approximately less than one hour from Kuala Lumpur city center by car. The area has a large bird population and varieties. It certainly entices many birders to be there. The main target birds in Serdang includes different types of kingfisher, woodpeckers, land birds, shrikes, kites, pigeons, egrets, munias, prinias, darters and herons just to name a few.

  2. I still have problem to differentiate the animals' gender, Encik Joe. Luckily this one has indicator of its gender. That's the real gentleman, where he build a house for his Queen. His Queen is taking a relaxing time while waiting for her King to complete their nest. This couple is so sweet. I like them. A good example for all men out there. Be a real gentleman like this bird. So good, right Encik Joe? hehehehe

    Personally I like Photo no 5, where I can see his effort building their nest. Photo no 4 also good.

    1. You are absolutely right Enrich Bliss. That the male job to net the nest. He does it with perfection while the female lays eggs. Again what a great nature we have.
