Orange-bellied Flowerpecker [Juvenile] @ Paya Indah Wetlands Dengkil, Selangor, Malaysia

Orange-bellied Flowerpecker (Dicaeum trigonostigma) is a colorful, very fast and attractive bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Paya Indah Wetlands Dengkil, Selangor, Malaysia. Orange-bellied Flowerpecker is a residence bird to Paya Indah Wetlands Dengkil. The bird can be found at the forest edges and around the lakes and ponds in the recreational forest.  

Paya Indah Wetlands Dengkil is yet another wonderful birding destination in Selangor, Malaysia as it is a residence to many exotic birds at the same time a destination of many migratory birds. The recreational park covers a large area of approximately 450 hectares wetlands consist of conservation and research, educational and recreational zones. The massive wetlands park consist of many lakes and ponds, including crocodile pond, hippopotamus pond, water lily ponds, ecology ponds and fishing ponds. Inside the park, there are chalets, hostels and camp sites for rent as accommodations. Other amenities inside the park include local food outlets, jogging tracks and bicycle lanes. The entrance fee to the park is free and it is opened daily from 7.30 a.m. until 7.00 p.m. 

The park can be reached in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur by car. Paya Indah Recreational park has a large bird population and varieties. It certainly entices many birders to be there. The main target birds include different types of kingfisher, babblers, sunbirds, eagles, kites, shrikes, malkohas, land birds, herons, egrets, cuckoos just to name a few. Beside the birds, the park has become a wildlife sanctuary.

Little Spiderhunter @ Sungai Congkak, Selangor, Malaysia

Little Spiderhunter (Arachnothera longirostra) is a cute, very fast and attractive bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest, Selangor, Malaysia. Little Spiderhunter is a residence bird to Sungai Congkak. The bird can be found at the forest edges and the little stream in the recreational forest.  

Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest is yet another wonderful birding destinations in Selangor, Malaysia as it is a residence to many exotic birds. The recreational forest covers a large area of tropical rain forest, waterfalls, trekking and streams. Whereas accommodations, camp sites, food and recreational activities are provided along the stream, right outside the entrance to the forest. It can be reached in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur by car. Golden-whiskered Barbet @ Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia

Golden-whiskered Barbet (Psilopogon chrysopogon) is a colorful, very active and attractive bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia. It can be found in the forest at the Hill.

Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi is certainly another wonderful birding destinations as it is a residence to many exotic birds. Although the area is not as large as Fraser's Hill, but the bird population and density certainly entice many birders to be there. The main target birds in Berjaya Hill include Partridge, Mountain Peacock, Hornbill, Orange-breasted Trogon, Orange-headed Thrush, Silver-breasted Broadbill just to name a few. Berjaya Hill can be reached by car in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur.
 
To enter Berjaya Hill, an entrance fee of RM16 or approximately USD4 per person will be collected at the foothill. Black and Red Broadbill @ Taman Melawati Hill, Selangor, Malaysia

Black and Red Broadbill (Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos) is a very colorful, attractive and fast action resident bird can be found in Taman Melawati Hill. It can be found in the vegetation along the small stream at the foothill.

Taman Melawati Hill is hill forest located at Taman Melawati, in the state of Selangor. The hill is part of Tabur Hill East or Bukit Tabur, a popular hiking place to the local during weekend and a wildlife and nature heaven. The view from the hill is breathtaking. It can be reached just less than an hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur City Center. 

Other neighboring areas to Taman Melawati Hill for the birding destinations include Kemensah Heights and Ukay Perdana.

Taman Melawati Hill is well known place to watch raptors migration process which happens during the month of March and April every year. It certainly entices many birders to be there. The main target birds include different types of kites, eagles, buzzards, hawks, kingfishers, weavers, flycatchers, cuckoos, bulbuls, pigeons just to name a few. It has become a destination for migratory birds too.
