Silver-eared Mesia @ Fraser's Hill, Pahang, Malaysia

Silver-eared Mesia (Leiothrix argentauris) is yet another attractive, colorful and very active bird among few hundred species of birds can be found in Fraser's Hill, Pahang, Malaysia. Silver-eared Mesia is one of the most famous bird in Fraser's Hill due to its beauty. The bird can be found on the tree branches along the roads at the Hill. 

Fraser's Hill is definitely one of the best birding destinations in Malaysia and in Asia as it is a residence to many exotic birds. The hill covers a large area of tropical rain forest, waterfalls, trekking and streams. There are abundant accommodations, food and recreational activities provided at the HillIt can be reached in approximately two hours from Kuala Lumpur by car. Fraser's Hill has the largest bird population and varieties. It certainly entices many birders from all over the world to be there. Raffles's Malkoha @ Bukit Rengit, Lanchang, Pahang, Malaysia

Raffles's Malkoha (Rhinortha chlorophaea) is a very colorful and very active bird among many hundreds of birds can be found at Bukit Rengit, Lanchang. It can be found in the forest, along the road leading to the Deerland Park.

Bukit Rengit, Lanchang is yet another popular birding place in Pahang, Malaysia. Lanchang is a small town located some 120 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. It can be reached in approximately one and half hour by car. The birding place located at Bukit Rengit not far from Deerland Park.  

Other attraction to Lanchang is the elephant sanctuary. It is certainly another wonderful birding destinations as it is a residence to many exotic birds. The main target birds in Bukit Rengit include Malkoha, Hooded Pitta and Malayan Pitta, different types of Babblers, different types of Trogons and different types of Bulbul just to name a few.

Black-throated Babbler @ Bukit Rengit, Lanchang, Pahang, Malaysia

Black-throated Babbler (Stachyris nigricollis) is a very colorful and attractive bird among many hundreds of birds can be found at Bukit Rengit, Lanchang.

Yellow-crowned Barbet @ Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia

Yellow-crowned Barbet (Psilopogon henriciiis a very colorful, active and very attractive bird among hundred species of birds can be found in Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia. It can be found in the little jungle at the Hill.

Berjaya Hill, Bukit Tinggi is certainly another wonderful birding destinations as it is a residence to many exotic birds. Although the area is not as large as Fraser's Hill, but the bird population and density certainly entice many birders to be there. The main target birds in Berjaya Hill include Partridge, Mountain Peacock, Orange-breasted Trogon, Orange-headed Thrush, Silver-breasted Broadbill just to name a few. Berjaya Hill can be reached by car in approximately one hour from Kuala Lumpur. 

To enter Berjaya Hill, an entrance fee of RM16 or approximately USD4 per person will be collected at the foothill. The Hill is open for guests from 9.30 a.m. onward. Since Berjaya Hill is also a popular destinations for family get away especially during weekend, be there early and wait for the desire lighting to come and search for the exotic birds.
