Bhaktapur Durbar Square Part 1, Kathmandu, Nepal

The world was shocked to hear the devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit Kathmandu, the capital city of world famous Mount Everest, Nepal on Saturday, 25th April 2015 @11.56 a.m. local time. The earthquake had severely damaged one of the most famous ancient place in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is listed as one of Nepal's world heritage site by UNESCO.

These photos were taken early this year during our second visit to Kathmandu which showed badly damage structure and statues to the extend of ruins. Restoration of this ancient place is currently on the way but, certainly it will take a long time and cost a lot of money.
