Legge's Hawk Eagle @ Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka

Legge's Hawk Eagle (Nisaetus kelaarti) is another species of Hawks can be found Wilpattu National Park. The raptor can be found on a matured forest where the land is free from vegetation. However, they camouflage very well with the surrounding to make them hard to be noticed.

  1. What amazing photographs. Please may I enquire (I'm not an expert) - what is the difference between Legge's hawk Eagle and Crested/Changeable Hawk Eagle?

    1. Thank you very much for your visit and kind words dear friend. The two birds are very different in term of color, crest and size. Sometimes we too have difficulties in identifying them. We do refer to Bird Book or Field Book for that purpose.
