Yala National Park, Sri Lanka

Yala National Park is located in the southern part of the island and it is the most visited national park in Sri Lanka. It has varieties of both flora and fauna, ranging from moist monsoon forests, dry monsoon forests, semi deciduous forests, thorn forests, grasslands, fresh water and marine wetlands, and sandy beaches.  It houses hundred species of birds and other wildlife, from mammals to reptiles. Most importantly, it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.

Yala National Park of Sri Lanka is directly facing the Indian ocean. As the result, the park was also affected by the 2004 Tsunami which had taken some forty-seven life from the park. Simple monument was built on the washed away bungalow.
